The American (Me)

I am an example of the multi-colored

and multi-cultural American past, present and future.

My ancestors were black slaves and whites.

My great grandmother, to describe just one

of the persons from whom I am descended,

was half Scots-Irish and half Native American.

My father, uncles and brother fought

in America's wars. My family history goes back

many generations in America.

I am what it means to be American.
